Question by : can i write reviews based on my own internet research?
i want to provide product reviews on my site. Am i allowed to read many different reviews for the product in the internet, and then based on the information i have gathered, write a review of my own. I wont be reproducing anything word for word that i have researched, but expressing my opinion based on what i have learned.
thanks for the feedback. To explain why i think someone would want to read such a review:
Say someone wants to understand whether a tennis racket is any good or right for them, by reading alot of different reviews from experts and different levels of player you can take all of their experiences on board. For example someone who prefers a racket that offers good control and little power might love it, but someone who likes power and would sacrifice control would not like it. Or by reading 20 different reviews of users i might garner that the racket is prone to strings breaking all the time, or the shaft cracking. By considering all this feedback i can paint a much more informed picture of the product.

So your reviews will be based, not on actual experience, but on your interpretations of other people’s experiences? Ask yourself why anybody would want to read something like that.

You can, but just keep in mind the reviews you read might be biased in someway. Also, make sure to give credit somewhere on the page to whoever made the original review. Otherwise, you are calling the info you gathered your own. You may not be saying it, but the fact that you don’t credit the original author will lead ppl to believe you were the person who originally thought whatever things about whichever product. I agree with guy above, the ppl who get on your site won’t care as much about the review, if it isn’t from your own personal experience.
I don’t think there is any problem with it. As I read product reviews and movie reviews it’s obvious that the reviews are being shared, or ripped off, or borrowed from; however you want to put it.
